News:How can Fred Kyei Mensah(Uncle Fredyman) Being Dropped Out of the VGMA Board Dealt A Big Blow to this year’s Ceremony? + There Are Equally Experienced Industry Players Out There to Sit on the VGMA Board- Charterhouse’s George ‘Aboagye’ Quaye Exclaims

In case you are still not aware, Multiple Concept Group, the organizers and producers of Ghana’s biggest event on the Ghanaian Entertainment Calender, the Vodafone Ghana Music Award Festival has made some shockingly shocking reshuffling prior to the commencement of this year’s event. 

It was surprisingly shocking to most industry players when Mr. Fred Kyei Mensah popularly known as Uncle Fredyman was dropped out of this year’s VGMA Board like a hot potato. The veteran sound engineer and one of the revered entertainment analysts is the longest serving member on the VGMA board, serving for 10 good consistent years.

When the PRO of Charterhouse who also doubles as the spokesperson for the VGMA board was quizzed by ‘Agyeman nie’ of Rainbow 87.5 radio, what really transpired leading to the dropping of Fred Kyei Mensah just like that, and not even in writing, the finest extraordinaire and eloquent communicator, GQ revealed that, “First of all, I disagree that dropping of Fredyman will dealt a big blow to this year’s event. The exclusion of Fredyman was just the normal reshuffling that’s been done almost every year, and this is not the first time reshuffling is been done regarding who and who are to sit on the board, and all the related matters. Zapp Mallet among other industry players has been dropped of the board before, so Fredyman been excluded is just those normal reshufflings the organizers engage in almost each year”.

When he was asked by the host why Charterhouse did not deem it fit to even inform their long seating board member, Fredyman even in writing or by any known means that he is been axed from this year’s VGMA Board, he said, “Oo Agyeman, if Fredyman is hurt or just not happy that he wasn’t in the known officially that he won’t be part of this year’s event, then let me on authority stand in for Charterhouse and apologize to him. We are sorry that we did not make him aware officially that he won’t be part of this year’s ceremony, we are sorry”.

GQ also added that no one should say Fredyman served Charterhouse. He said, “Fredyman has not in any way served Charterhouse for 10 years, Fredyman has served Ghana as a whole for 10 years, and there are still equally experienced industry players out there to serve on the VGMA board”.

It is been alleged that the organizers dropped Fredyman because he did not pay heed to the Oath of Secrecy, where more or less, he was heard divulging stuffs that under normal circumstance he wasn’t supposed to be saying. Mr. Fred Kyei Mensah was axed from this year’s board together with PY Addo, Riche Mensah (Lynxx) among other industry players.
