News: Ego, Fame, Exposure and Friends among Others Were the Factors That Led to the Split-up of Praye- Says Cartel Big J
Product
of now defunct, hiplife trio, Cartel Big J on Pluzz 89.9fm with Sammy Flex in a
heart to heart interview disclosed that among the myriad of factors that led to
the split-up of the ten-year old Praye group, fame, ego, ideological
differences, exposure, friends were the core factors that caused the split-up.
He
added that at a point in time, they weren’t able to manage the stardom; ''the
size of our stardom was just too much for us to manage, and also the friends we
made during those days also was a huge factor leading to the break-up”.
On
whether he has missed the other members of the group, he commented, “we’ve been
through it all, we’ve seen it all, we’ve rocked top notch shows together, I
just don’t know why we should split-up at that point in time. Indeed, I have
regretted joining the group in the first place. Nothing ever ringed a bell to
me that the group would break-up one day, and to the extent that I’m now a solo
artiste.”
Cartel
Big J has released a single titled ‘Mafiwo’ which featured hilife sensation,
Akwaboah Jnr some few weeks back, and he is set to release a new single soon
which will be featuring the VRMG boss, Edem.
On
whether he will advise someone to start his/her music career as a group, he
said, “I’ll never advice anyone to start doing music as a group, just be your
solo artiste and make things happen for you.”
