Chelsea are close to signing Baba Rahman from German club Augsburg, according to reports.
The Blues have been linked with a move for the 21-year-old Ghanaian all summer, after it became clear that Filipe Luis wanted to return to Atletico Madrid after one disappointing season at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea and Augsburg have been in lengthy talks with the Bundesliga club holding out for around €30million (£21.15m). Jose Mourinho didn't want to pay that much for a defender who will be mostly used as reinforcements with the starting back four largely settled.
According to The Guardian, Chelsea agreed a fee with the player previously but have now agreed to pay £14m up front with another £6m add-on if he plays 100 matches for the club.

"I would like to continue working with all players, but when you sign someone like Baba from the second division and he’s on Chelsea’s radar 12 months later, it does make the coaching staff proud," said Augsburg coach Markus Weinzierl.

Former Chelsea boss Avram Grant is said to have alerted Chelsea to the potential of Rahman; the Israeli manages Ghana and led them to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.
