It
was advertised times without number that Joy fm’s DJ Black would simultaneously
be djing and Mcing at this year’s Ghana Meets Naija concert but on the night
proper, Starr fm’s
Nii Ayi Tagoe was the man who was behind the turntables. According
to many who attended the concert, Nii Ayi Tagoe did not really live up to
expectation; his presence wasn’t felt that much.
In
an interview with Christian Agyei Frimpong on Channel R explaining what
accounted for his inability to gig at the concert, he stated that he wasn’t
contacted earlier, he said, “the notice did not come early for me to rehearse
very well for a show of that nature, consequently I felt I wasn’t that well
prepared to gig at the show.”
When
the host quizzed him as to why he is the only Dj that’s been sought after by
event organizers; why he is the only Dj who plays almost every top notch
concerts here in Ghana, he answered that may be the question should be directed
at event organizers who come for him, he said, “I think this question should be
directed at event organizers who come for me, but may be importantly because of
how I package myself”.
The
former Radio Universe Dj is currently pursuing his Masters Degree at Gimpa.
