News: Nero X, Koo Ntakra, Luther Unveil As the Nominees For VGMAs Unsung Category, 2015+ Check out who also made the cut (See Photos)

On Sunday, Charterhouse, the organizers of the prestigious Vodafone Ghana Music Award unveiled the nominees for this year’s Unsung category.

Powered by GHOne TV, and with support from KFC, the unveiling ceremony was hosted by George ‘Aboagye’ Quaye and in all, 6 personalities made the cut out of the thousands who were nominated by the public. The 6 nominees are

-          Kingz kid

-          Koo Ntakra

-          Mz Yankey

-          Nero X

-          Luther

-          Black Suburb

Kingz kid is an alumni of Central University College, he busted onto the music scene some few years ago. He has released songs like ‘I Got my Jesus On’, ‘Thank you Papa’, ‘Testimonies’ among other songs. His style is more of gospel with a hiphop feel.

Koo Ntakra is no stranger when it comes to Ghanaian music. He was the winner of the second edition of MTN hitmaker. He has released songs like ‘Wurewurafo’ ft. Pope Skinny, ‘Medaase’ ft. Keche among other songs. He is already having an album to his credit.

MzYankey busts unto the music scene about two (2) years ago. So far, she has released five (5) singles as well as 3 videos. ‘You and I’, ‘My Time’, ‘Gedegede’ ft. Castro are some of the songs she has released so far.

Nero X is the ever popular ‘Osey’ hitmaker. The Westside legacy boy was the winner of the maiden edition of Viasat One’s reality show, Bornstar. Nero X also released songs like ‘e be God’ ft. Castro and has featured on whole lot of songs. His ‘osey’ song has been the toast of many music lovers for some time now. Many thought the dude should have even be nominated in the VGMAs proper, he is simply an awesome artiste.

Luther is an alumni of Ghana Telecom University College (GT). Luther since his official burst onto the Ghanaian music scene has done tremendously well. He has released classic song like ‘Dormi tamor sorng’ ft. screwface, and some other hit songs. He has won the male vocal performance award at last year’s BASS Award. His stage performance is just something else.

Black Suburb is now the new ‘ishh’ on the block when it comes to alternative rock band performances. This group of late has been featuring on whole lot of top notch shows.

The Unsung category basically seeks to give opportunity to the budding talents to shine and blow to the best of their ability. These 6 nominees will be given the chance to perform at the VGMAs nominees jam come this Saturday, and the one who will garner the most votes through public voting will be privilege to share the same stage with the big bosses in the industry on the VGMAs proper.
