Ghanaian high life musician Bisa Kdei says he doesn’t mind mounting any political stage to perform ahead of the 2016 general elections in Ghana.
With his hit singles "Brother Brother" and "Mansa" sitting comfortably at the top of most musical charts across the country, Bisa Kdei in an interview with DJ Reuben on Luv FM over the weekend explained he would not think twice accepting money to perform at such events.
According to him, performing at such grounds does not mean running a campaign for any party but rather a mere execution of his duty as a musician.
Paraphrased: “I can’t campaign for a political party because I don’t do politics and moreover, I don’t want anyone to develop hatred for me. Bisa Kdei is for all just as my music is, however, I don’t mind if they want me to perform at their event” he said.
Over the years, some showbiz personalities have cried over the unfulfilled promises after openly campaigning for political parties. Others have also cried of how their careers have almost been stalled because of their affiliations with some political parties.
Would Bisa Kdei’s suffer a similar fate should he decide to mount any such platform to perform? Would his the people be able to disassociate his business moves from political colorization?
Bisa Kdei is already eyeing the enviable crown of Artist of the Year at the 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards with several ht tracks to his credit.
